I have a national poly on brood and a half
queen is laying but its a bit of a shady spot this and there were about 6 large slugs in residence and one or two brood frames were a bit mouldy at the bottom so replaced them with newer brood frames
The super (acting as brood an a half) is full of solid ivy honey they collected so they have stores so hopefully they will be ok.
A question tho on brood frames that have mould on ...
Can you trim off the mouldy bits and leave it as a half foundationless frame suitable for a bait hive ?
Or should I melt it down or treat it some other way ?
