Bet they won't winter well if at all.

You have done all you can, but if you have swarmy genetics you are on a loser. Change genetics.

Isn't this the beginners section where we are supposed to give helpful advice?
There are many reasons for bees swarming not just genetics!

I think that talking rubbish should be reserved for outside the beginner's section where people know to ignore it.

If you read Millet's posts he has done all he can IMHO. The only variable left is swarmy stock unless you prefer to blame the beek which I don't in this case and that is helpful. Keeping beeks in the same loop year in year out is not helpful.

A workman blames his tools
A beekeeper blames his bees
If life was that simple.

Naughty boys and girls...play nicely ...or I will make you come and sort out my colony....which could be queenless....could have a virgin.....could be maybelline!

I do not know if you are taking the pish through previous threads by me but i have wasps at the bottom of my list..:spy: Thank you Steve.

:sorry::sorry::sorry:

As this posting is in the beginners section I was attempting to make newbees wasp aware!
A colony replacing a queen ... as probably in this case... will possibly be failing and be low on bees to guard against invaders/ robbers, particularly as we approach Autumn.
Also look to see if the extant queen is/ was a drone layer... if shis is and is still there catch her and put her in the freezer!.

Too many variables indeed!:hairpull:

Yeghes da

Oooops....I take my joke back, then

NO crack on, what is it coming too if we can not have a laugh and a joke on these wet miserable days, i see where hopit is coming from now by trying to warn other new bee keepers to the wasp problem, me personally have nothing too worry about as i was brought up to speed last year by Karol, he definitely knows his onions when it comes to wasps.

?
Where are you?
Hot humid Spanish Plume expected.
Temps for next week

We have had 3 days of 14C, overcast, and mainly rain.

That's after a June and July 80% of which was similar..

I plan on feeding 20kg sugar per hive.

Is that aimed at me?

On reading this thread again yes it was and you are not a beginner. Some people on this forum is just intent on stirring things up. Guess wife not interested in bickering with them any more.

I was wondering as you posted after mine. Would you like to expand on that remark and why it is you think they are doomed?

The point I was making is that sometimes it's best to leave them alone.
This colony were intent on making cells and in the end, just like JBM, I left them to it. They did not swarm and they are now quite settled, so why do you think their future is so bleak?

I was going to post in this thread as I have a similar colony. But it would appear hilarity has ensued. I will keep it to myself lol. :sos:
