Hi Hivemaker
Any idea what height above hot bed and spacing would work with these led bulbs. The title says 18W but the technical details below says 8W! Definitely the cheapest option. Would use for vegetative growth.

Quite close as they are only small lights, about ten to fifteen inches, and about 12 to 15 inches apart.

This is my hot bed. Planning on putting some correx sheets around so its properly enclosed.
Thanks for lighting tips.

Propagator now up and running for 6 weeks.
Fixed some E27 light sockets to some woooded planks which are 15" above the bed of the propagator. Found this was too high so raised the seed modules which are now 9" from the lights. Still too high.
Tried a mix of 28/40/60W led grow light with E27 fittings. Currently have 18 lights over the growing area which I don't think is enough so will be adding another 12.
A second layer of seed modules can be placed above the planks with the lights.
A black orchid 14W fan provides a continuous flow of air so not had any mould/damping off as yet.

Some funky looking plants on that advert!

I have had experience with these lights and the halogen predecessors.

Don't the key users of this equipment usually connect them via the streetlights??:sifone:

I've looked to just buying a couple of the bulbs so they can be located over the seedlings instead of lighting the whole garden & keeping the neighbours up all night.
To be honest, I need to finish the bubble insulation on the inside of the greenhouse (first proper frost this morning).

We are using them this year, seem to be working fine. Comparing growth with and without to see the difference!
