NO that is NOT correct
Supervisors have to have a different grade of certification that is above level 2

Level one has now been superceeded!!!
Level 2 is NOT supervisory

ANYONE handling food HAS to be trained to LEVEL 2 ( there is even a variant for producers / manufacturers) IF they are preparing or handling food to be sold for consumption to the public.. IT IS THE LAW

Our local Farmers Markets now demand to see to current food safety certificate AND the producers product liability insurance certificate!

Nothing to do with proper labeling.. but the Law is the Law!! sorry

Yeghes da

I admit I was wrong.

4th paragraph down Quote "There is no legal requirement to attend a formal training course or to get a qualification, but it can be an effective way of ensuring staff are trained in all the relevant areas/issues."

someone has told u porky pies down in cornwall.

I work for WSCC and they only want me as a supervisor to have Level 2. And I produce meals from scratch for 40+ people every day with staff that don't need official training according to them and our local EHO and we have 5 stars

No, it is in the rules set by the organisers of the (most) Farmers Markets.

You are safe from me so don't worry or try to explain, i only commented on this link as folk can be found by the wrong people by the said information on the label from a jar.

Personally i would give neutral address from a relative many miles away.

I thought about this over night. you could set up a PO Box number that gets delivered to your property without your address being used in public.

Saying things like that is insulting in my eye's, i only commented to hopefully help folk from attracting the wrong kind.

FFS you have just been saying your chickens and rabbits will kill people and whatever else. i was just mentioning it through the current hive theft's.

God i can be emotional at times, i may have missed your Joke, Sorry .

this is why you get posts deleted regularly. maybe take a breath before you hit the send button it may just help.

I could find your house and maybe Hives from that if i was that way inclined .

If you were inclined google earth is your friend. I know where there are hundreds of hives are in my area you can see them in the photos.

For such a small Island with such a high population we do seem to have an incredible amount of regional variation.
Seems in Yorkshier the regulations applying to honey bottling and production are different to the ones that the Cornwall Trading Standards impose

Best to look at the plethora of regulations on( ENGLISH ) honey labeling, bottling and production. before the hand of English law gives you a mighty slap!

You will soon get pulled up and given a hefty fine if something is wrong!

As a supervisor you should be trained to level 3... admit that this is when you have staff ( who should have level 2).
Otherwise when the training says " inform you supervisor" what would they do?
:hairpull:
We live in a world of compliance !

Long way from putting you address on a 1lb pot of honey so the law can hunt you down if a mouse's turd is found floating in it!!!

i think we need to agree to disagree here as i know what i do is correct where i live. i should do as i have worked in the food industry since 1989 and have been compliant with both EHO and trading standards all that time.

i have been inspected by both regularly and now work for West sussex county council. So I do know what im talking about.

You should hold level 3 as a supervisor
I have level 2 as I do not have a supervisor
Work it out!

A form of contact is all that is required, confirmed by TS and EH at an association meeting after the change in regs.
Guys the OP didn't want to know about qualifications.

i agree swarm. shame there are people that like to pick fights and try and bully.
its why i barely bother to come on here anymore.

but thats the world all over.

It seems to me that the purpose of the address is that the "authorities" can contact the producer in the event of a Nasty - botulism, salmonella, etc. - in order to track down the rest of the batch.

Clearly a full address is simplest but postcode and house number would work for the specified purpose these days. The address of an Aunty two counties away would clearly not be fit for purpose and would likely result in a prosecution.

if you wanted to be anon then use a PO Box no. thats the idea of them also.

Simplest would be to ask you local Trading Standards.. as with most things all that really is required is to show a duty of care.

CVB is correct... TS just need a path to follow when things go wrong.
