Due to a poor summer I've only just harvested my supers which still leaves me to treat for varroa.
Is it too late (temperature wise) to use apigard? If it is what else can I use?

Sorry if its a daft question, only my first year!

Thanks

Colin

Get it on I would say, anything is better than nothing.
Mine has been on 2 weeks this Saturday at 1 apiary where I didnt think I had a high loading as monitoring floor was clear each time I did a check.
You should see it now !

Go for it, and welcome to the forum :)

Thanks very much, ill get the apigard on tomorrow, bees were a bit angry after I stole all their stores!! :reddevil:

why the delay harvesting? hoping weather might pick up and get more stored.
given this summer it's likely that stores actually declined.

you need to plan your crucial beek jobs. obviously timings different for those on the heather but basically need to have schedule so that necessary treatments can get done.

any late forage just saves you sugar and fondant costs.

This is my first year and a proper plan is the biggest lesson I've learnt.
