I borrowed the works IR camera and took a few pics of my hives, not that good but you can see the ball.

Ouch! Just looked at the ebay items for thermal cameras. Mostly exceeding £1k.

Mike A put up some images from his IR camera (about a year ago?). They seemed to be better than these images, as I recall. Just a chrissy present from his wife, IIRC.
