GW's photo shows a greater banded hornet Vespa tropicana. Shame because if it means hundreds of gardeners are in danger of missing identifying a yellow legged hornet V. velutina. The editor blames the photo library GW uses and tells me that an article on the YLH is due to appear this spring.
