Any good advice given in regard to how to do something, doesnt make it the only way or the best way to do it under every given situation.
If somebody wants to try another way, being called a dyslexic stupid UK know it all one hive owner living in the dark ages, doesnt really go down too well.
A more appropriate and polite way would be to explain why an alternative method will not work, or that if it will work, it may still not be the most effective way.
Yes I am guilty of arguing with Finman but only on the basis that he tells us that if we dont treat our bees, they will die, whereas many on this forum do not treat (but are afraid to say so), and have not lost bees.
How does anybody know that their bees died because they were not treated, when so many people have lost colonies that were treated.
Finman as many others, treats his bees without knowing if they have mites or not, because by his own admission,,, its stupid to count mites. Treat them anyway because it makes them happy and they make more honey.
and why havent my bees died yet?????????? Well, Finman doesnt offer any explaintion and I certainly dont know...
I have said before that I have no problem with anybody who keeps bees in a manner so as to squeeze every last drop of honey from them, but we are told that ?????kg of honey is worth ?????? km in petrol and we must be nuts if I dont want to earn money to buy petrol.
Well for all of Finmans ??? years of selling honey I am sorry for him that he hasnt managed to make a success of it and been able to put money away for his old age.......... or that he still finds a need to stash his earings away instead of enjoying what he has laboured hard for all these years.........
saving for the kids inheritance???
screw all that........
