About 10 - 15 days ago I lost the lovely Queen to my colony. I found her dead and inspection of the brood frames a couple of days ago showed no eggs at all, though still capped brood, and lots of workers.

What should I do?

You found her dead, you squished her?.....did you check for Q cells, there should be a virgin in there by now, which you would need to find and kill before introducing a new queen.

And then you will have to find someone willing to sell you a queen at this time of year!!! Not easy.

Combine them with another beekeepers colony....... for the winter.
Split the brood and requeen in the spring.

Not sure you would get many offers of help, I wouldn't be keen to put my healthy colonies at risk by introducing some temporary inmates.

your only hope is someone who is doing a late combine and that releases a spare queen or offer to buy a small overwinter nuc from someone and emegency combine
