Just curious, has anyone ever known a Queen to get through an excluder?

Oh, and brilliant, well done, I hope they thrive.

Yes, although it was slightly damaged when dropped and opened a slightly wider gap between two bars. Fortunately the swarm was caught and re-hived. Long story short but the little scrub queen was replaced shortly afterwards due to chalk brood issues.

Checked TBH today bees seem very happy coming and going. dose that mean the Q is in the hive ? ;)

Probably yes, but she may not be any good. Only way to be sure is wait 8+ days after you find eggs and check brood cappings then you'll know for sure.

She should be good if she has just lead a prime swarm. Reading your post Friar Tuck it appears she may be a Queen in her second year when she should be in her prime.

I think she is the original Q i brought as a Nuc from Hivemaker last spring. She is very prolific and produces gentle bees. Green paint i think. will do a full hive inspection of all hives on `Friday, remove QE from TBH give them a bit easier:D access.

Quick update THB going very well 11 bars full now ! i added 2 more this weekend should have took some pics for you but with 1 hand in a cast i would have been difficult. Bees seem to love there TBH and seem very happy bringing nectar like its going out of fashion and bright red pollen to match.

I hoping the cast comes off tomorrow so il get some pic for you at the week end.
