ok still to extract my first honey but intend to print my own using self adesive PC address lables. Is there any web-site offering standard designs / wallpapers and or samples of required info?

And it all gets a little 'sticky' if you sell in bulk to a third party who then jar the stuff up. I think you still need a batch no and a point of contact although it appears provided the third party knows how to contact you that should be fine.
There was a big debate on this a while back and some very useful direct links to EU directives were provided. I now have these in a file to refer to. This way some of the confusion might be taken out of an otherwise rather chaotic debate.

 I wish I were at the stage of worrying about labels *sniff*. Despite them working a super for the past month during a flow, I seem to have less honey in the super than I did during rubbish weather. I'm sure they've gone on strike or summat, little buggars

Label? What label? 16 pounds (16lb) bottled today, 30+ pounds (30lb) to do tomorrow:cool:

Was talking to somebody recently, about labels and pictures. A local beekeeper sells "spring honey" with a picture of yellow flowers that look remarkably like oil seed rape. The honey was very runny.

Can a 'generic image' be misleading?

If a picture of a flower is used then a certain % has to come from that flower.

Try inkreadible.com after having sorted all your legalities.

On my labels, the name and address requirement is satisfied by my name and postcode.

Contactable doesn't infer full postal address. The voters roll or the Post Office should be more than sufficient to pinpoint me as the supplier.

... and a picture of a hive, say a WBC when the honey producer has Nats or Langs?

The regs are not that restrictive as the type of hive would not affect what's in the honey

Yup, its more about traceabillity (probable spelling error), ensuring that the product is as described and that the amount for sale is understood. TSO's generally do not prosecute if the spirit of the law has been complied with.
However, a misleading description, such as-

the Bury honey company suppliers of traditional style Lancashire Honey, Naturally good for you. giving an address in Bury, When they sell dodgey honey from asia imported through an EU country with lax border controls, is a deliberate attempt to mislead customers and is likely to be prossecuted.

Relax folks they are not out to get you and they have not installed spyware on your pc, they are there for our protection against the genuine criminals

house number and postcode is enough to get a letter to you unless you are out in the wilds on your own when i guess just postcode will do it.

I have always thought that in my case:
"Rudd,
The Kingdom,
The republic" would suffice

Anybody contemplating printing their own labels should bear in mind that the label must remain legible until such time that the jar is empty. I would imagine that this would disqualify many d-I-y operations, unless laser printed with lacquered labels as many inks are likely to smear and smudge in the presence of moisture over time.
