Our present "Apiary" (for want of a better word), was always temporary while other works were being done on site. We are moving it later in the year so putting / planning a new Apiary with Honey Extraction / Storage. A nice company have decided to fund it (well the "Honey House") I need to persuade them for the equipment.
I am looking for advice on what equipment / space we need, we will be into double figures for hives and don't want to have to carry anything very far. Our original intention was to have storage for boxes, frames, tools etc and a clean area for extraction, storage of honey etc.
What equipment and makes would we need, we are looking for good quality equipment that would last.
Extractor - make model?
Warming Cabinet?
Decapping - manual - machine - models.
Water Heater
Sink
Storage
Filters?
Honey Settling Storage / Valves?
Wax Melter?
What to do with cappings?
Space / Size requirements.
For the storage side all I can think of is a chest freezer to help kill wax moth.
Not a great one for fiddly bits or spending hours on end getting honey from a couple of frames so any help would be appreciated and see what we can get away with, as I need to give them a floor plan.
