I am a new member here, have come across from the BBKA forum as it is being so poorly run, it is turning into a cliquey club.

I am hoping this forums powers at be will be a little more friendly?

Between me and my dad we have about 20 hives, at 2 sites.

I can supply pictures if you would like to see some?

Hi Dave. You nursing is about same size what I have. Last summer I kept 25 hives in 7 places. I collect them all for winter to my cottage yard.

Me and my dad made some, but most are Thornes Seconds or home made ones from a chap we know who gave up a year or two back.

The straps were as a couple were leaning, but we allways have a strap on each hive, just to be safe. Something I think is worth doing for the 5 secs it takes to do.

We also used to get the odd livestock in the apiary, but we fenced it all off last Sunday, so we are safe now.
