Have only started bee wrangling this year and am consumed by it already! Can't believe there is so much quality training, and support available, all for free (and the love of bees). Hoping to re-pay all the generosity in my turn.
Got a prime swarm from a near neighbour to start me off, but I fell at the first hurdle with a swarm in July and ended up with laying workers. Have learned so much from this set back. Did manipulations I hope I won't need to repeat any time soon. Been given a small colony, which I hope to nurse through the winter and build up in time for spring 2015. Just collected some Kingspan and Reticel boards (from Freecyclers) to begin preparing my hive for the cold.
