Snowed again yesterday. -4c this morning. Never made it to 8C today. The winter that will not die. Hey, I saw the first pollen load of the year on Sunday, One load. Last year was a late spring. Delayed only 8 days in setting up first cell builders meant 100 fewer nucs this spring. Looks worst this year. Hoping to setup first cell builders on May 9. The weather had better change soon or we'll be late again.

Cold spring but strong colonies this year : pollen sub fed in Feb, full inspection last week, supers on : despite the cold spell bees foraging happily. One super on each hive. Looks like my strongest three hives are filling them up (clear CBs).

I expect to start QR end April (mid May last year) - weather permitting..
