Yesterday we were called out to a swarm - and met a lovely, bright and enthuthiastic young lady called Emma, who missed out on a place on a beginners course by hours.

Unfortunately, she does'nt live here so I can't help...she is from Hampshire
BH25. She is looking for someone to shadow and learn teh basics. She learns more by doing than by reading, so really needs a friendly face.

She had us in fits - despite an awful swarm!!She stood within 3/4ft wearing shorts and in bare feet - no flummoxed at all.

If anyone can offer Emma a chance to help with their bees - please could you pm me so that I can pass her details privately?
Many thanks.

I like the cut of her jib.

She was wonderful - so fascinated, asking all the right questions and amazed about them. I really want to find someone who can teach her the basics before she goes to Uni next year...as she would like to either join a Uni 'bee club' or create one!

I think with time she could be a feel asset to someone - she asks a question, thinks and then chooses the exact next logical question - not random at all. A real ray of sunshine!

Hope you gave her details of this forum as she sounds as though she would soon learn and become a 'thinking beek' in no time at all. Just what the forum could do with.

if she survived:cool:

Just occasionally I'm not sure whether something is a typo or a very perceptive observation.

:Angel_anim:

Arghh - I MEANT a real asset -and I truly mean it...although she is a VERY pretty redhead...

I did tell her about the forum - but she is quite shy and I fear easily scared, but I do think she could be an amazing keeper...

PLease someone - TRUST ME & Emma ...

Could she be close to a very large beekeeper in that part of the world?:)

That's an interesting idea - do any universities have bee clubs, with their own apiaries? Any idea which uni she's heading for?
