Hello,

I’m just trying to work out timings for super clearing.
I’m planning to extract on Tuesday.
Would putting clearer boards on today be too early and problematic?
I assume there is an increased risk of crystallisation if there isn’t warmth from bees on the frames?

Thanks

I use rhombus cleaners. Put them on late afternoon and take boxes off early next morning. Boxes usually have no , or just a few, bees in .
Porter escapes are totally unreliable in my experience but if using them I would allow 24 to 48 hours for clearing .

Thanks folks,
Sadly can’t get back to the hives until Monday/Tuesday so will put them on Monday and extract Tuesday. Rhombus boards. Thanks!

you can leave rhombus boards on for a couple of days and it's doubtful the bees will find their way back up, but as Dani says, if it's OSR extract asap after clearing them down
