Hi peeps, end of my first year of Beekeeping.
Got a half filled super under the brood box and have made a 25mm celotex insulation 'cosy'.
Have some fondant for later on and the Vapmite is on it's way.
What is the 'acceptable' daily loss of Bees this time of year, seem to have about 20/40 dead Bees on the OMF every morning.

Sounds reasonable as the older bees die off , all should be ok as long as one dosen't see a whole floor full suddenly.

Doesn’t sound like anything to worry about. What did you treat in autumn with?

I treated with Apiguard and it seems to have been effective as the mite drop is only now tailing off and I have a Vapmite in the post somewhere.

Let me know how the vapmite works out.. if it’s worth the investment please.
