Just had a week in Seville, took this pic whilst there and thought it may be of interest.

Nice photo Rockit, you want to hope you don't get an infestaion of them little buggers, they will eat all your carrots if you have any.

Great shot I can never get them to sit still long enough. I'm not an expert by any means but I think by the way it is carrying its wings it is a dragonfly rather than a damselfly.

Must admit I thought initially that it was a Dragonfly, but they were so small and dipped the water just like a blue version here I changed my mind.

Damsels are an iridescent dark blue/black and a rather floppy flying style. I suggest that shot is of a dragor fly - a very nice one.

I belive that dragonflies close their wings when landed and damsels keep them open if that's any help

I think you will find that it is the other way round. Dragonflies land as this one has with the wings open and Damselflies fold their wings.

dragonfly

looks like a common darter ? but i may be wrong
