I have just returned from collecting a simply MASSIVE prime swarm from a compost bin. It must have arrived sometime in the past 5 days, based on the volume of fresh white comb. It has to be the largest swarm I have ever collected - it has filled 3/4 of a 14x12 brood chamber.

Very easy, no stings and the 'owners' treated me to tea, cakes, beer and also contributed to diesel costs (40 mile round trip) which was very generous.

I will try to get copies of the collection form the homeowners - as I was unable to take pics and collect at the same time.

regards

Yup, 2 years without human interference - am trying to think of ways of getting them there grubs out for raising Queens! By now they should have some good disease resistence, eh?!

To answer your question Admin, I'm afraid not.
