Just a quick tip/advise.

Check your entrances are clear or the bees are able to keep them clear of the naturally dieing bees.

They can quickly build up in numbers and a very reduced entrance of miss-aligned mouse guard can very easily restrict the bees.

I have to say the worst offender of my hives was the beehaus mouse/wasp guard, on what is quite a strong hive.

Already on my list. It's not only the wasp guard, but the body design, having a 'well' going down to the entrance/exit - oh and operation: your bees would be better well away from the end walls at this time of the year, a (grave) la Dartington.

Regards, RAB

Did this about half an hour ago: about 10 degrees here - one hive in particular most unimpressed by the blade of a screwdriver invading their territory, with a good few guard bees investigating me.

Falling into the old trap of being lazy, and not making sure correct clobber available..........:)

Possibly they have not forgiven me for oxalic acid yesterday.
