Picked this up in the Market used to transport parsley from Spain. Will either add more frames or blank off. Will use outdoor varnish on bits of frame sticking out.

Wont allow photo will try later sorry

Yes, bait boxes can be so cheap and easy.
Got an old tatty discarded brood box someone was throwing out. Divided in 2, put on a solid floor with entrances either end. Old, finished, but sterile, frames in each side... They have a choice of entrance. Seems to work.

Just itching to make new frames up but too early. :nono:
Roll on Spring.

We got a meat hamper at Christmas in a poly box, snug lid etc. We are going to cut an entrance an try using it to collect swarms...once it is sticky back plastic lined obv.

Have tried to upload photos error ??? will upload old photos tho, driving me mad, 2.4 MB any ideas

Might be too big - if on a PC (ie. windows) then right click on the photos in windows explorer and choose send to mail recipient. This will then allow you to resize them down to a more manageable size. Don't send the email but save the attachments and use them to upload to here...

Often called a bait hive ... put them out in spring with a bit of old comb in them and some swarm attractant or lemon grass oil Site them a couple of metres off the ground if you can (and on a ley line crossing .... OK ... Not going there tonight) and with a bit of luck you will attract a swarm - FREE BEES (as long as they are not yours you have attracted !).

This tells all:
