Went to the allotment yesterday. Lots of bees around, plus lady bird and a red admiral butterfly which seemed to be flapping a bit. Picked it up and warmed it a bit and then it flew off.

What else has turned up out of season on your patch?

I was surprised, this morning, to see two ladybirds (one orange, one red) on one of my small apple trees this morning. Will have to look up the Ladybird lifecycle as not sure what they normally do over winter ... indeed, not even sure how they reproduce !!

Tortoiseshell butterfly in our bedroom this am. Record early for us.
