Has anyone experience of working with a Beehouse (shed with holes). I am beginning beekeeping this year using the above.
 
Our BKA has a beehouse and I hate it. You cannot see into the cells properly ( when looking for eggs etc. as it is too dark and when the bee inspector came he took every frame outside to inspect it.

Also gets very hot in summer - and our bees don't like sweat dripping onto them !

I do accept though that in some cases ( eg Hedgerow Pete) there are times when a locked/alarmed shed is the only way to go.
 
Has serious advantages for breeding work, grafting and AI, but as some have found some disadvantages too.

Used mainly in country's where the winters can be savage, Switzerland and the higher German areas for instance.
