Hello everyone,

In multi-storey hives; Is there anyone using bee entry and exit holes on the upper floors? Does the entrance and exit hole on the upper floors work?

Last year I had a colony on two home made boxes made of insulation board. Bees did not like the under floor entrance and dug a new one at the meeting point of both boxes , Overwintered with a md entrance successfully with Q and brood in lower box.
Now rehived in a full hive and performing very well.

Bees like to flye into the box hole where the hive has brood.

If put the topmost, bees start to fly into the topmist box.

15 mm hole is big enough. Or you may do another 15 mm hole, if it has traffic jam.
