If you look at this link and scroll almost down to the bottom of the list of videos there is quite a good video on the basic life cycle of the honey bee. http://www.hilaroad.com/video.html Nothing new in it for anyone who has kept bees but beginners might find it useful. You can buy the video as a downlad for $7.00 so it could be used on courses.
There is an interesting snippet in the commentary about smoke being used by beekeepers to mask the alarm pheromone of the bees - which was a new idea to me but one which sounds convincing and which may explain why people who just use water instead of smoke tend often add something to the water.
They also have a video on pollination but I haven't watched it. Be first to review this film!
