If you look at this link and scroll almost down to the bottom of the list of videos there is quite a good video on the basic life cycle of the honey bee. http://www.hilaroad.com/video.html Nothing new in it for anyone who has kept bees but beginners might find it useful. You can buy the video as a downlad for $7.00 so it could be used on courses.

There is an interesting snippet in the commentary about smoke being used by beekeepers to mask the alarm pheromone of the bees - which was a new idea to me but one which sounds convincing and which may explain why people who just use water instead of smoke tend often add something to the water.

They also have a video on pollination but I haven't watched it. Be first to review this film!

Lots of other videos on the site too. How to reanimate the dead etc.

(might have misread that last one)

I found the above site via this one: http://www.saudibi.com/

If you follow the link via the pages about the Saudi Beekeeping Industry and then the Problems of Beekeeping page there are some good (and some not so good) pictures of various bee diseases.

Or take this shortcut: http://www.saudibi.com/index.php?module=gallery_page&page=gallery_e&cat_id=53

Don't look at this site if you are easily frustrated when things don't go as you expect - it will switch to Arabic layout (with the scroll bar on the left) from time to time and also into Arabic, which is how it will first appear, but just click the "English" tab (on the left you will notice), but I am sure these minor niggles will not thwart the resourceful members of this forum!
