I was just talking to someone about apideas and was wondering what the going rate was for them these days...

I've previously used beequipped, but their website seems to be down (and archive.org says it's been down since late last year).

A quick hunt around for other suppliers (and there aren't many) and I found:

* The 'big supplier' prices are often over £30 each, and that's without delivery!
* Highland bee supplies and several Irish suppliers are more reasonably priced (£20-25), but the delivery stings.
* honeybeenucs are a lot cheaper, but only do bulk orders

Anyone know what's happened to beeequipped? IS this just how it is for apidea supply now, or are there other suppliers out there that I'm missing? :piggy: :smash:

I find Apideas far too small ( as are the SwiBines and Rainbow) for overwintering.... OK at start of seasons breeding when bees to stock them are a bit short.
My preference is Kielers with an eke for overwintering... good late in the season too as more bees seem to defend the wasp invasion>

IMOHO before the forum's trolly dolly gets his knickers in a twist!!

Try C Wynn Jones.

Maybe buy the full boxes, then sell a few if surplus to your requirements ?
