Api life var's main components are thymol, eucalyptus oil 16% and menthol 3%.
Acts like thymol products.

Mine is similar to those mentioned. Before treatment, about one mite a fortnight. During treatment, 100's, too many to count, and that had been throughout the first three weeks. Treatment comes off tomorrow.

Is varroa learning to cope with OMF's?

OMFs don't magically kill varroa.
they are part of IPM.

Mine went on on monday. I delayed and delayed until the new queen was accepted. No probs so far and hardly any drop - I guess that huge brood gap helped !

Added Api Life Var on Monday (September 17th). Bees sound quite loud but, passive to my intrusion this morning. I didn't use any smoke at all, never even lit the smoker. Topped up feeders today and noticed they have been chewing it up probably, to remove it, little buggers, I told them it was for their own good but, do they listen? I am just about to check photo's of the varroa drop. I reckon it's quite significant so, it must bee working.
