I have some of the above that I didn't use last year (the packet is unopened) because I was treating with Apivar almost to Christmas, so I kept it for this year only to find today when I get it out to use that the expiry date on the packet is June 2019. Which means it is six months out of date. I don't want to order anymore at this time of year and will use it anyway but it would be nice to know what the shelf life of API Bioxal is from new so I knew the percentage by which it is out of date compared to it's date of manufacture. Anyone got some nice new stuff of which they could tell me the expiry date?

It will be fine. It (Oxalic acid di-hydrate) only really starts to degrade when it's in solution. In powder form it's degradation rate is minimal.

having opened a two year old packet and not quite right, it is not just oxalic dihydrate but 86% oxalic and 14% fill powder it seems to degrade the fill powder to a brown substance,

i made up the old apibioxal and the liquid was orange!!

But did it do the job?
