I need to move my hives about 50 yards as the farm they are sited on is about to do some major earth moving work. Do you think I could get away with moving them in one go using the magic sticks trick. Daytime temps forecast to be 7 degrees from Monday to Friday this coming week OR should I move them off site for 3 weeks?

Sorry I just saw LJH thread sorry, we seem to both have the same question.

Your answer is yes.

Just as long as the "earth-movers" are very timid & don't mind being stung!

My experience of the "Navie type" is that they may well take offence at the idea that;
although all the books available recommend moving them >3 miles away,

someone on your beekeeping website said it would be ok and the 300 angry bees in the JCB cab were merely an unforeseen mishap!
