As a new beekeeper am enjoying my first summer. All is going well, there are lots of bees and I have 2 supers that are nearly full. I would appreciate comment on whether its better to add supers to the top or the bottom of existing supers ? Do the bees fill from the bottom or the top ? Thanks

Depends on the flow.

With a strong flow expected or on, put additional supers below. Bees dislike a space between the brood and their stores and will work hard to bridge the gap.

In cooler weather, say early in the season, put on top as the heat-sink in the honey helps the colony.

If you're doing cut-comb or chunk honey, also best to put below as the capping will not be marked by the passage of bees.

Another vote for under any existing supers.

This has already been covered in a thread "Unsure exactly when to add the next super". There is apparently no statistical difference between top and bottom supering.
