Hi all, can anyone recommend a good source of acetic acid suitable for cleansing of supers / frames etc or is it just a case of ordering thought the usual sources for collection.

Thanks in anticipation

Soap kitchen? Well, any of the soap ingredient suppliers? Some may be glacial, not 80%.

B*nnym*n chemicals. Can no longer give a recomendation after a bad experience (PM if you want details)

Just to make absolutely certain that you have it straight - its not for "cleansing" (which sounds awfully like cleaning), rather it is for evaporative "fumigation", sanitising against pests and many diseases.
It can (perhaps should) be used on drawn comb.
But it doesn't clean.
And it makes a mess of metalwork (rails, nails, etc).

Cleaning frames, ready for re-use with new foundation, is an entirely different process, using totally different chemicals.

As usual, there are 'official guides' to how to do both processes safely and effectively, available for free download from Beebase.

Soap Kitchen, not so quick delivery but one of the cheaper mail order sources for a litre or two of 80% acetic.

It is listed under "cleaners", but that's for soap makers, they use it diluted. Beekeepers use the fumes from the acid as supplied at 80%; handle with some respect.

I am happy to supply people close to me with small amounts of either glacial or 80% acetic acid. If your can get to around Kent/Surrey border by M25 pm me.

Thanks everyone for your replies, just to confirm it was for fumigation of frames. Many thanks for your kind offer farbee but order placed with the soap kitchen, require a tad more than I would be happy accepting.
