normal diswasher powder is more caustic than washing soda, so no damage

Dont use Manleys with castellated spacers or EVERYTHING will get propolised into one solid mass.

do 10 42mm wide manleys actually fit in a ten space castellated spacers, must be very tight, Has anyone done it

A very simple way of stopping Manley frames from getting well stuck together is to Vaseline the edges of the sides.

The other answer is to use a decent hive tool and lever them apart. I find the J type pretty unhandy so use this type:

As my prevoius thread, i prefer spacers and staggered to start with one SN1 frame without spacers as a dummy to remove first if my bees proplis everything up

i have metal spacers at 44 and plastic at 46

Just goes to show it is horses for courses. All the old hands I have discussed frames with at my division have turned their Noses up at spacers as a pain in the arse.

THanks for this excellent steer, PH. Ordered a couple (one for a mate looking to take it up next year) and am very, very impressed with the quality of this tool.

It's very robust, mostly inflexible, with a sharp edge. All the things my hive tool is not.
