a few more than last year but still not enough
I have been on this site today and on the links page the owner has published full names addresses and phone numbers of most of the bee association secretaries.

You may want him to remove them if you havent given permission.

Most of those are on the net anyway but doubt he has permission to post them

Shop appears to be still running though!!

"Dissolved" isn't always permanent.
Companies House will dissolve your company and freeze your account if you don't do your returns on time. It's a bit of a wake up call. But you can reinstate it for a few hundred quid if you catch up with your documentation.

Been there got the t-shirt.

But if it's terminal, there does seem to be a theme developing, what with the Dewsbury lot. I know of at least one other that's packed in this year too, thankfully without shafting customers AFAIK.

The web site WPFB were using is still advertising 2013 bees and says they will take deposits, so presumably somebody is trading from the same address under the same name or a very similar one. Not the only company registered at that site. http://www.companiesintheuk.co.uk/ltd/drury-and-alldis-of-thornwood Diversifying or moving on?

Half a million companies are wound up every year. For many it appears to be because they never had any intention of filing any accounts. Ever. Any assets are transferred to another company if they ever had some. HMRC are generally too stretched to follow up more than a handful, tax bills are written off and debts disappear. Not suggesting for a moment that this is the case with this particular company, but it happens far too often to think that winding up companies has not been seen as a strategy by some.

it says dissovled by voluntary strike off on the filed account 31/7/2012...does that mean it is willaim walking away rather than company house imposing their "disssovle"

yep he filed for volunarty dissovling in April 2012 and it is now finalised, assume if he is trading that he is trading on sole account

third company he has walked away from

looks like it has been taken from the BBKA 2011 year book as several are out of date AND my BKA has even changed counties since then
It's the list as in the BBKA 'find an association' page.

The days when a name, home address and telephone number can be posted in public are probably past. News stories only yesterday about PPI claims companies calling, texting and emailing any address they can find. How is this news when everybody I know has been pestered for months now? Plus impersonation fraud of course. Yet being an association secretary means having some means of contact available. What to do?

BBKA putting your full address and phone number on a public site is probably beyond what is currently acceptable. Contact forms on a web site? An association mobile for swarm alerts and periodically sweeping messages?

Sole trader carries a lot more liability and it's harder to hide. If it doesn't work out your personal assets are at risk and bankruptcy turns up in quite a few searches.

It's not the only company registered at that address, one was registered Sept 2011 as previous link. And there's nothing to stop anyone using a company with another address, a 'nameplate' company or a relative. A few quid gets you an 'off the shelf' company, often with an optimistic name made up from a couple of dictionary words 'shinetrade associates ltd' or similar - no idea if that exists yet. A few months to get the new accounts registered, then wind up the old company.

I'm sure it's all above board in this case, as a lawyer would advise you to add.

Some more details

Hi

Here is the link to the offending website ******************* please note that it is Weald Place Farm Bees not Wield.

I can't believe thiat someone would take the time and effort to transcribe all the addresses from the BBKA website. Details for our association secretary are out of date. Need to check the BBKA website!

Harold
