    Plywood nucs

    Hi, I'm making up a few nucs from plywood. These are just for back up/ quick fixes/baithives etc. Not really expecting to get long life from them. Question is what's the best way to treat the exposed cut ends?? Any other advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

    Commercial to national, whats the best way??

    Later in season im giving a friend a nuc to get him going. His equipment is national and mine commercial. Whats thebest way to do this? Am thinking, he gives me a national hive plus a hamilton converter and i transfer over then either dummie down or add in frames and foundation. Any advice welcome😀😀

    Apidea box over winter

    Will an apidea box that is doing well now over winter successfully?. I don't need to re queen, but would be nice to have a mated one for spring should the need arise. OR Make up a nuc from my hives that are doing OK but not bursting at the seams either??

    Was having a peek to check things were progressing in the box and she took off. What's the chances she will make it back??. I keep it up on a wall,but had lifted it down to look. Lesson learned perhaps😣😣😣

    Eggs,sealed brood but no grubs

    On first inspection of season, bees flying well and saw queen, was just worried to see sealed brood but no grubs. Is this normal laying ?? Numbers in hive wouldnt be big and sealed brood area wasnt large either. Light and my eyes waSnt great but pretty sure i saw some eggs. Appreciate any advice.ta

    how to avoid having too many hives???

    Am hoping to have about 4/5 hives eventually, so was wondering once there how do you stop the increase, with AS's etc each year, is it as simple as do reunites where required and donate surplus?.
