Dear Bee-Keeping Forum

Please do you have any information about honey being used for injured soldiers in World War One?

Would honey have been used for treating wounds on the battle fields?

Would honey have been used when soldiers returned to hospital for treating their wounds?

Were other honey products and bee products used to treat injured soldiers / battle weary soldiers in World War One?

Was there a demand for using honey for wounds during WWI that led to an increased number of hives.

Thank you for your help and any information you may have.
The history of bee-keeping is a fascinating subject!

I think the increase in beekeepers as in WW2 was down to the shortage of sugar.

I dont know about honey used for medicinal purposes during the war years.
