What's the wooden strips for, more Bee Space?

Hi all,
and before anyone says it, I'll say it;

I don't believe he's on about Bee Space again!

Well, I might be... what are the wooden strips for in the below video, you can get a real good close up view at 11 seconds;

From looking veerry carefully, I'm reasonably certain there are two of them, with a Queen Excluder in between, kindof making the Excluder the ham in a sandwich.
Why use them? The Excluder I get, to stop the Queen from moving from one section to the other, so you can have only honey in one section or a second queened colony?

Anyone got any good ideas?
 
I've no idea, but there's a chance he/she might understand English. You could ask a question on the comment space below the video.

In fact, looking at his other videos, it's clear he can write in English.

Double hive with vertical queen excluders . And integral feeders !
