I arrived at an out apiary this evening and parked by a hawthorn hedge. When I got out of the van I was amazed by the pungency of the blossom! Really heady aroma.
 
Yes, it's what I call cow parsley. There's lots of comfrey there too but not in the picture.
At first blush I thought it looked like hemlock, which has made its way down here in a few spots.
Lovely site there and looking very lush. The bees should be happy with that!
 
Still plenty of Hawthorn around. Whitebeam and ash also blooming. Seen the first bramble flowers today with honeybees on it. Lime is about to start blooming soon.
We might not get a june gap at all.

Astounding show of Hawthorn this year, the scent is thick in the air.
