What type of nuc(s) do you have?

Curious to see what the split is between poly and wood.

Until recently, I'd have said mainly wood nucs (5 frame Langstroth deeps but also Poly Apidea and MiniPlus). Now, I'd have to say mainly Poly(https://beekeepingforum.co.uk/album.php?albumid=751&pictureid=3910)

Heavens sake! I can’t read properly. Poly. All poly plus a few poly nuc supers for the Payne’s.

One important thing is the floor. I cannot understand why to use mesh floor in nucs. Need of ventilation is really small in nucs.

Build up in poly nucs is exellent compared to wooden simple wall.

Next spring warm hive is the key factor on build up. Cold spring is long.

All nucs are wood.
However 3 mating boxes are Polly???

I've had both - bees overwintered fine on both, but plywood nucs are high maintenance so over the years they have all been replaced with poly. The bees overwinter fine and build up well in the spring with open mesh floors.
