I've got a nuc which is giving me bother. I was rather hoping to have come out in hives but it's being awkward.
Situation:
Nuc from May with a 2021 Northumberland Honey Buckfast queen. She was accepted and they were doing OK (not growing as fast as the other NH colony but OK). Then last week they appeared to be superceding her. Went back to reduce QCs down but in so doing spotted what I believe is a bee with CBPV.
At this point do I:
1. Let them be(e).
2. Unite with another colony
3. Transfer them to something I can try the bottomless pit approach on even if it means they have a lot of dead space (about to go away and don't have dummying kit made up nor time to make any before going).
4. Decide as it's a small Q- nuc it's not worth the fuss or disease risk and seal them up tonight.
