Hi. Beginners question. I have a full super. i would like to ask can i leave it on the hive until i am ready to extract others at the end of August. So do i simply leave it on the hive and place another super btw the full super and the brood.

If i can leave the full super it on is it better above of below the new, empty super?

Thanks

Depends what's in it! If it is anything but rape you should be ok leaving it on. But I like to take it off and spin my first honey out! You may find they use it if you get a big June gap!

.
Extract the box and you get the combs into reusage.
The honey will crystallize and you are in trouble then.

A beginner never has too much free combs.

If it's capped extract it now. You'll be surprised by the difference between this and the honey produced later in the year ;)
