Hi guys,

I took a full super off one of my hives yesterday that was on oil seed rape.

I have extracted it and now its just sitting in a bucket.

I dont have a paddle to make creamed honey.

As this is the first time ive extracted honey, can anyone tell me what i need to do with it before jarring

many thanx

you can just warm it up, filter and jar the honey. add a 'crystallisation info ' label to the jar. job done.

many more options are available, just wait for the varied responses! ;)

That is what we have just done with a load of ours. People seem to like solid honey just as much as runny. People with children like solid more as it doesn't get everywhere...

If you can't heat the bucket when the honey has set as the bucket is too big, then jar it and you can heat the jars later or sell as hard. However hard OSR is VERY HARD and some will complain.
The honey I sell is in the proportion 90% runny. 10% soft set.

The National Honey Show site has some info. Look up support/publications when you get to the site.
