Checked on the ten virgins I introduced into mating hives and they are all still in residence, two are already laying, but the rain has returned here in S. Wales. I have another four to check in an out apiary.

I got up early to go vape a hive I was supposed to do last night but by the time Bake Off finished it was dark. 6 am sun not up and hundreds of white bees coming home.

Many happy years beekeeping with it verry jealous, will just have to put up with honey inthe car boot

Piaggio Porter, exactly the same as Daihatsu Hijet.
PS Apparently it will carry nearly a ton and you can also get a 4x4 version as well.......maybe next time

A new Porter bee escape?:paparazzi:

Are we supposed to feel sorry for you in hot weather in Brittany? Cos I have to say- I don't. Some of us live in rainy Wales. Now that is worth complaining about! :(

I am actually not complaining, i know how rainy Wales can be!!
Its just so hot that it really is unbearable !! hasn't been like this for years!!
Still won't be long, soon be back to rain and gales (like Wales)

Been glorious here all day too...looking forward to a fab weekend as well....here in the Vale of Glamorgan....the Surrey of Wales.

Moved some nucs with recently mated queens into full sized hives. One q is stubbornly refusing to lay or even show herself. The bees are calm and polishing cells and the first test frame yielded nothing so I've put in another frame of eggs/young larvae so maybe she'll take the hint!

You've missed out an 'L' there

:nono:
Nortyness.
Luckily we live a bit off the beaten track....so very quiet ...however a bit exposed to the weather off the channel a few miles away. The bees are having a few good days...so taking honey has been delayed. Is this our belated summer?

The. Bees were really bringing in the nectar until last week. It has been so dry here that mature trees and shrubs are wilting. Bees are now tucking into their stores. Final extraction of the year tomorrow. Have just put on the rhombus clearer boards.
