inspection boards in to count the varroa mite drop. and then treat next week with OA.

The reasons I use it cause of hygienic reasons. Bees are upside down and less make it "dirty" , also sun shines through and I read some research it also helps in keeping water clean from nosema. So for me is now the cheapest solution for getting somewhat safer water supply for the bees. I would be more glad to be near some creek but that is not the case..

Bitterly cold wind all day with sleet showers so took to the workshop and made a spare national roof. Felted rather than metal.

Stormy here.
Just sent husband out to walk the younger dog and check the hives. I'm sitting nice and warm by the Rayburn with a coffee. I guess it's too early to put a little something in it :nono:

Never too early for a warm mince pie with a glass of mulled wine ;)

Not much in the apiary - checked all the hives were still there! as the (luckily empty) WBC is now tucked away in various parts of the garden :D fortunately the spot I've chosen for the apiary is shelterd from most directions although a strong Northerly might get me worried about how well rooted the trees in the land behind are so I've decided before the end of the winter (If i haven't been sent away by then) mr Husgvarna is going to have his throat well cleared dunno who the owners are but they've assumed it's mine anyway.
Spent most of the day either shopping , up the old chapel tending the fire ready for Christmas morning or organising the readers etc for the service. Just realised I'm taking the service - my first ever one!!! :willy_nilly::willy_nilly:
At least unlike Dusty I don't have to put on my best party frock!
