Does that equipment fit our national

You don't really thing the French would use British National hives, do you? :icon_204-2:

Its basically Langstroth kit.
However, internationally, the most standard thing about Langstroth kit is the name! You need to be VERY careful that it is what you think it is.

However, the plastic rhombus escapes at €1.30 (basically a quid) are general and indicate a definite difference.

I feel much the same about people moving around as well, they should stay in the area they were born in.

I agree.

Lets send the Danes back to Denmark.
And the Romans back to Italy
.
And the French back to France.
And the Hugenots to France as well.

And those foreign monarchs..
(a long list I have abbreviate otherwise I will be here for hours
That William the Conqueror back to Normandy
William of Orange back to Holland
the Hannoverians back to Hannover.
the Mountabatten Windsors back to germany.
Prince Philip to Greece.

and the influx of refugees in WW2- Poles,French, etc - deport them all.

And the Jamaicans to Jamaica, the Iraquis back to Iraq, the Pakistanis etc.

But where would we send the English - who else would have them?

This is a good point. Whilst workforce mobility has easy to measure (GDP), short term benefits there are longer term, harder to measure costs. Things like old people not having their families around to look after them, children not having their grandparents around for the inter-generational perspective and cheap childcare, streets no longer being communities because half the folks aren't planning to stay there more than five years so don't make the investment to develop relationships etc... Because they are hard to quantify these negatives get ignored.

Honey time!

Took off some Supers - ran away. Came back a bit later and put them back... (no - I don't own enough Supers...)
Two hives 2 feet apart, nectar flow over the same 3 weeks - completely different colour and flavour honey. The light stuff is like lemon curd it's that citrus flavoured! (Big Lime tree at the back of the house?)

I thought I better put a super on today, so we are now down to emergency supers, and built frames of fresh foundation. So this is my third super, took the cover board off, which was well stuck down with prop, and found brace comb building on the cover board, this super was stacked with bees, so quickly dropped another super on and closed up, without the use of any smoke, wanted a quick in and out, weather a little cool. Bees relatively calm, and then after I changed out of bee suit, went back to have a look, and one Bee followed me back into the house! (quickly shut the porch door to isolate in the porch, caught it and let it go, it flew back to the hive - no doubt to sting me another day!).

Looks very good. Can I ask why the French prefer plastic bottles?

Can I ask why the French prefer plastic bottles?

It's because if they have a sudden urge to surrender (which they do quite often) whilst carrying the honey, the jars won't break when they put their hands up :D

Mainly because honey is sold in 10 kilos, 3 kilos and kilos - that''s very large jars and makes transporting around the markets an even heavier job.

I don't think I've even seen a kilo glass jar for sale, although I do 500gm in glass or plastic and 250gm in glass for the tourists.:icon_204-2:

BTW, honey looks good nicka, well yummy.

I was working with the bees from 5 till 9. Still warm..
Now approx temp. is 32 in a shade. On the open field,well..
Bees are at least mad, this is said polite..
And the day isn't still over. Today will be very long..
For the grass around a hives, I should rent some tank or let them cut by themselves. Still not decided..

Since 387 BC, France has fought 168 major wars against such badasses as the Roman Empire, the British Army and the Turkish forces. Their track record isn't too shabby, either: They've won 109, lost 49 and drawn (or as close as you can "draw" a war) 10 times. Professional boxers have been crowned world champions on shittier records than that.

And while it is true that France surrendered to Germany relatively early in WWII, that was only because they hadn't picked themselves up after WWI yet. And WWI (despite being an entire "I" lower) wasn't exactly an anemic playground chickenfight--the French suffered about 5.7 million casualties (the war killed or wounded an incredible 37 million people worldwide).

Sorry to drift further but yes, any joking on that subject is always made (or should be) with the ghastly facts of Verdun in mind. THAT SAID the Google search gag bases on "Famous French military victories" remains a classic

Now ... I don't often sit on the side of the French but ... the Rugby record between France and Wales is pretty evenly balanced - only a couple of victories in it and a very small number of points :

went through a hive made from an AS earlier in the year and for the first time ever found and marked the new lovely queen myself - at last as I can never find the queen usually:hurray:
