Beauhawk
House Bee
Wish I had something to do! First hive is on ordean it no bees yet but part 5 of my beekeeping course tonight in Yalding.
Looking forward to it.
Looking forward to it.
Some certainly very small looking, so expect to find some unviable due to failed supersedures/old queens.
Bees from both colonies out and about collecting at least 2 types of pollen.
This is only my 2nd year of beekeeping (1st nuc in Jun and 2nd in Sept) so haven't got much experience at all
I attach a couple of photos of the bees landing on the boards - to me they look quite hairy bees so does that mean they are probably new spring bees? There has been quite a lot of brood capping debris on the inspection boards under the VMf (I had the inspection boards in for a week to have a look for mite drop, of which there seems to be none)
.............we're flying out to Venice Saturday morning - so an early start for Birmingham (have to watch the match out there so i doubt much touristy stuff on the first day)
You may find a fair few die hard forages returning to the original hive location before immediately entering hive at present site !I had moved 2 hives on Tuesday, thinking we would have really bad weather all week and they wouldn't be flying. Moved them maybe 10 and 12 feet from original sites. Lots of bees flying today (temp only around 7deg but sunny), and around midday there were a fair few bees milling around behind these 2 hives, in the area where they had been moved from. I worried a little and went away to think of a plan.... Came back an hour later, sun gone in and so had all the bees! Looks like they found their way home..
Yeah should be a good match...........
Italy have been playing pretty well this year and the Irish are always good value.
Venice seems an odd place to go to watch it though - isn't Stadio Olimpico in Rome?
Oh! You didn't mean that match did you?
PS - Good luck, may it be an open flowing game........
