They'll look much better with bees in than handbags on top! This where the WBC's were before they arrived at the meadow

Hi can you pls explain further - do you put a completely empty super (no frames) then the uncapped stores above & no crown board in between? Keen to understand how it works...thanksJust back from a break.
Quick check on a few supers I’ve put over empty ones for bees to take down. Satisfyingly empty.
Checked a couple of broods. Sensible bees have stopped filling the box with bees and stores are being laid down.
The plan is to put a foundation frame in the middle next week
Looks gorgeous, nice location to do inspections & lovely flat ground!Early start for videoing the setting up of another 5 hives at a client's meadow.
A job that would have taken me 15 minutes took 2 1/2 hours!

I agree, but the handbags cost more than the hives! They'll look much better with bees in than handbags on top!
If SWMBO allowed me a hive for every handbag she has I'd be direct competition to Murray McGregor !This is where the WBC's were before they arrived at the meadow

Brood. Crownboard with feeder hole reduced to a couple of bee spaces ( a cd is good). Super with no frames. Super with uncapped frames. Crownboard.Hi can you pls explain further - do you put a completely empty super (no frames) then the uncapped stores above & no crown board in between? Keen to understand how it works...thanks
It works without empty super but using one will do no harm .Brood. Crownboard with feeder hole reduced to a couple of bee spaces ( a cd is good). Super with no frames. Super with uncapped frames. Crownboard.
The bees consider the honey is outside of the hive and rob it down.
I’ve tried without and the bees always refused to take the honey down. I don’t like putting the frames under the brood as lifting a heavy 14x12 off after a couple of weeks is a pain.It works without empty super but using one will do no harm . ☺
Thanks will try itBrood. Crownboard with feeder hole reduced to a couple of bee spaces ( a cd is good). Super with no frames. Super with uncapped frames. Crownboard.
