Checked my hives today. The new black bees are a pleasure to work with. They are expanding nicely and with just two brood frames to draw out, will go into winter strong and healthy. The other hive, on a brood and a half are also ok. Put in clearer board, in preparation to remove super of honey. Didn’t expect to get anything from them this year. The half brood box is emptying of brood now, but the bees are back filling with stores. Not sure I will be able to extract as it’s mixed in with the brood.
What is the best thing to do with it?
1) Remove QX and leave it above bb to limit robbing?
2) Nadir it once wasps have cleared off
3) Put it above the QX & see if I can harvest some of it.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
