You're probably right, the one I moved tonight was even heavier and carrying it up the steps wasn't as easy as I'd planned.

Sadly, my honey money hasn't stretched very far this year and so it'll have to wait.

Thanks for thinking of me tho

We'll make a proper Tyke of you yet....Good one.
Nearly a 2-hour return drive to my nearest Farmfoods in York....simply not worth the diesel or time.

What about if someone not so far away who has a farm food store 300yrds from home buys a load and then delivers it free of charge.. well not free i need boiling water to soak my tea bag .. :spy:

Sounds good....But have another 100kg of that expensive Aldi stuff (Lidls are out of Sugar round me) sat in the kitchen waiting to dissolve. I think that should do for me.
The kindness of the thought is really appreciated though.

Assistance is given when a cry for help was needed the return is minuscule...

Another 5L of thymolated 2:1 on each of my five poly 14x12s. Ivy about to burst forth here (about 12 miles west of Salisbury, southern edge of the Plain).

Varroa drop after 7 days of Apistan: 85, 35, 40, 385(!) and 43.

Feeding and vaping rounds, Carreg Cennen Castle first stop - the beauty of a rare breeds farm is you don't know what you will find in the field that day, It may keep the ne'er do wells away though.

Keep 1 eye behind you as you bend over to vape

She's docile enough - as are the other seventy nine.
The apiary is in another enclosure though, right at the foot of the rock the castle sits on - no animals allowed into that area.

Took Apiguard from last 2 colonies, 1 of which had almost encased the tray in comb and were busy filling the eke in some form of creative art.
Got an email from Bee equipment they had 48 hour discount on everything so that’s anothe 5 brood boxes & 5 more supers ordered.

Strapped up my hives at home a wee bit windy. bees flying lots of gorse pollen very busy hives considering the wind . Go girls.

The ivy is starting around here now did find a couple of patches a week or so ago but only the odd plant

ApiBioxalled two hives belonging to a lady I occasionally help.
They did not like it and told me (and her) - in no uncertain terms to leave..
Requeening target for next year (they have always been bolshie).

I have done the same in case the hive gets blown over. The girls were still flying and pulling in pollen even in this wind.

Mine are always strapped up however i placed a heavy rock on each hive just to be on the safe side... how are the bees doing by the way Mike..

Came home this afternoon to the carnage of the bees. A hive strap had frayed and broke on a stack of used supers and the roof blew off....Guess I shall leave them to it until it's dark.......
Who says bees don't fly when there are gale force winds...these buggers do.
